Levi and I met online through a dating service in Facebook called, Zoosk. This dating site was specific in its search criteria which helped me find Levi. When I initated the conversation, he was frank and was clear where he stood. I find it fascinating and was willing to see and give it a try. We emailed long emails to each other - 17 emails in 4 days. Then we met in person, talked while walking around in the Liberty Park, SLC, UT. We found out that we lived 10 mins away from each other.

We emailed long emails to each other - 17 emails in 4 days. Then we met in person, talked while walking around in the Liberty Park, SLC, UT. We found out that we lived 10 mins away from each other.
It lead to more visits and dates. We became surprised how well we get along. I was surprised how well he was willing to learn ASL and his facial expressions were clear and wonderful in expressing his feelings. Through some bumps on the road, we learned to reach for each other's support. As our trust increased everyday, I learned that I need to show him how hard it is for two cultural different persons to live together, as this case, hearing and deaf. He didn't believe me so I set expectations higher. He was surprised how high it was but I was more surprised that he accomplished them in his best ability. His effort and commitment was apparent. The more I challenges him, the more he teaches me. It solidifies my love for him.
We continued our dating while doing our own things and do things together. We created a relationship the kind we wanted to be in. It led to thoughts of marriage because we enjoyed so much to be together. We laugh, tease, play, work and discuss often. We admire and praise each other. We show appreciation and gratitude to and for each other.
Our spiritual growth also grew - as we read scriptures, pray, and read Ensign together, I can see the wonderful path toward the celestial marriage before Levi and me. We both desire to marry in the temple for time and eternity. We want to improve ourselves and make the life at its fullest. We share goals as a couple and support individual goals as well.
The search for rings began in Jan. We wanted to keep in budget. I had a vision what it should look like. There is no ring that fits my image so we had a piece and piece put together. Levi knew my criteria. I left at that.
On Feb 8th, Levi arrived at my apt unannounced. I was intrigued at his bravery. He usually makes sure that I am home before coming to visit but not this time. He was smiling so happily. He hugs me often and kisses me. He says, I love you! often. Then he asked if we could go for a drive. My eyebrow perked up and I thought, "Is he planning to propose? Never mind that!"
I said, "Well, I need to finish my IEP forms before tomorrow then we can do it." He jubilantly said, "Okay, I will go do errands then I will come back." So we are off to finish our tasks. He came back and then took me for a drive. I knew something was up because he came back clean and his beard was trimmed. He looked so nice.
He took me on the bench of the mountain where you can look over the city lights. I really like that view. I became quiet and thoughtful as I usually am when I see a city view. Levi became nervous and wanted me to talk so I talked about this place and that place. I explained to him that when I am at this place, I will be more thoughtful than talkative.
"What are you thinking about?" I said.
"I was thinking about how much I love you," he replied.
"Why?"
"because we work together so well. We can laugh and play together. We have fun doing things together. I feel we are right for each other. (getting the ring box from his pocket) So will you marry me? (open the ring box)"
I gasped and thought, (The ring is beautiful). I just said a breathless "YES!" and hugged him. I grabbed the ring and put it on! (Looking back, I laughed at myself.)
It is real! It is offical! We are engaged! We are very excited to plan our temple wedding, the reception and ultimately our life together. Invitations and pictures will be sent out soon. Thank you for your support to our union.
